Have been on a social media posting drought for the past year but I’m back!
We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.

I first learnt of this quote sometime back in secondary school (yknow, English essays 
). Mother Teresa had always been a big figure in my life growing up in church, but as a kid, this was just a quote I kept in case I needed to write an argumentative essay or something 
As I grew up, I was very fortunate to be given the opportunity to take up leadership roles, both in school and in church. I never saw myself worthy and often thought to myself how insignificant my contributions would be, when others around me were far smarter, more outspoken, more charismatic and more capable.
This quote then became a reassuring voice in my head, and reminded me that the ocean is in fact made up of little drops of water. However small, any effort or contribution is significant. And living by this quote has allowed me to really grow into a more mature person, both mentally and spiritually.
So for anyone still hesitating on anything (donating to charity, volunteering at an animal shelter etc) because you’re worried your effort is not worth much, I encourage you to take that step forward, however small, and be assured that it’ll benefit you immensely.
